We welcome you to Southmead and Henbury Family Practice. We are one of the larger practices in North Bristol, practising from Southmead Health Centre and The Willow Tree Surgery, Henbury.
Our size enables us to have a team of doctors with a wide range of interests and expertise, a team of specialist nurses to care for patients with chronic illness, a dedicated health visitor for the elderly, and health visitors and district nursing teams on site. We are also able to offer an urgent triage service to ensure all patients with acute symptoms are dealt with quickly and appropriately the same day.
A personal service is maintained by a ‘personal list’ system, ensuring you will routinely see ‘your own’ doctor when you visit the surgery, enabling you and your doctor to know each other well and providing continuity of care.
With the invaluable support of our reception, admin and nursing teams, we have achieved high scores in the recently introduced quality assessment system, and strive to provide an ever improving service.
Training: We have been training GPs for over thirty years, which ensures we keep up to date, and we are regularly inspected and approved as a model for future general practice. We are also involved in teaching medical students and nurses.
